What would Millstatt am See be without the Millino cinema? The old cinema from the 1950s has seen better and better times. The change of tenant a few years ago, which made Millstatt-born costume designer Max Wohlkönig the landlord at Georgsritterplatz 178, ushered in very good times. Original illuminated signs show cinema-goers the way. The cinema café now serves homemade cakes and sandwiches and the cinema programme covers a wide range of topics. As a counterpart to Netflix and the like, it's hard to imagine the lake without screenings in the glamorous cinema auditorium.
For the tenth time, philosophers, scientists, authors and economists are coming together at the European Tolerance Talks. The anniversary edition of the European Tolerance Talks begins with the Ethics Forum in Villach on 15 May. This will be followed by the European Forum and the presentation of the European Tolerance Award in Fresach on 16 May, as well as the Economic Forum and a poetry slam on 17 May. The event will conclude with a tolerance breakfast on Saturday 18 May. The theme ‘TRUTH’ will be accompanied by a special exhibition in the Evangelical Museum Fresach.
