Contemporary art reveals mysterious corners in and around church of Millstatt this summer. As part of the ‘schön!_das leben’ exhibition curated by Tanja Prušnik, the millstART art association is presenting paintings, sculptures, land art, light installations and photography by around 20 artists, mainly from Austria and the Alps-Adriatic region.
A walk through the church of Millstatt is a journey into the past and a journey into fantastic other worlds. In addition to millstART and the ART SPACE millstatt, the August Emporium Gallery has also been located in the Stiftsgasse for several years. The doors are open to art lovers from Wednesday to Sunday.
Gifted to Gurk Abbey by St Hemma 1000 years ago, Albeck Castle is now owned by the family. The idyllically situated ensemble is a year-round excursion destination and meeting place for art lovers. The ambience of the Bamberg Amthof in Feldkirchen offers a wonderful setting for art and culture. The annual programme includes creative courses, concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions of contemporary art. In 2024, the Stadtturmgalerie Gmünd presents works by probably the greatest and most idiosyncratic magician of modern art: MARC CHAGALL.
After visiting the exhibition, take a stroll through the historic streets of the town. Along the way are numerous exciting views of the city, as well as the ‘House of Amazement’ and several galleries that are well worth a visit.
