Historic walls, mountain peaks and lakes are the stage for artists from all over the world. The summer opera in the Amthof, the performances of the Ensemble Porcia or the theatre evenings in Albeck Castle are without doubt among the cultural highlights of the year.

Angelica Ladurner enters her last season as ‘headmaster’ of the Porcia Comedy Theatre with Nestroy and Turrini. The theatre summer opens on 29 June with Nestroy's ‘The Talisman’. The children's play ‘Puss in Boots’, the comedy ‘Funny Money’ by Ray Cooney and Eduardo De Filippo's comedy ‘Marriage in Italian’ are also on the programme.

The Porcia ensemble on the road: Carinthian street theatre has an inherent magic. A ‘travelling box’ that travels to the most special places in the whole country - and makes several stops in Millstätter See - Bad Kleinkirchheim - Nockberge region, including directly at the lake, on the village square and on the mountain top. Entertaining hours are guaranteed. Admission is free.
The platform for contemporary dance and art on Lake Millstätter See: Eleonore Schäfer - [FKc] FORUM KUNST contemporary - and Andrea K. Schlehwein - Andrea K. Schlehwein + NETZWERK AKS - present international contemporary art and dance performances with high artistic standards at ART SPACE at the church of Millstatt. Visitors can look forward to expressive dance concerts in the annual programme. Feel yourself: the O.P.E.N. morning class invites you to do just that under experienced guidance.

Rarely performed new productions: This concept has proven its worth in Feldkirchen. More than 60 events have been staged since 1993. In the 2024 cultural summer, ‘Der schwarze Domino’, a comic opera in three acts by Lauro Rossi, is on the programme at the Amthof. The 19th century opera, in which love, mistaken identity and intrigue come together in a single night, will be performed for the first time in Carinthia.

In Nestroy's ‘The Torn Man’, a rich man who no longer knows what to do with his money takes to the stage of the Albeck Castle Theatre in 2024. Performances take place every Friday and Saturday at 7.30 pm and every Sunday at 3 pm. The ensemble will accompany three other productions throughout the cultural year.
