What would a biking region be without Flow Trail? Mountain biking has a long tradition in the Nockberge mountains and the bike network is constantly growing. There are now hundreds of kilometres spanning the green mountains. In the summer months, some of the ski mountains now offer spectacular Flow Trails down into the valley.
Europe's longest Flow Country Trail provides a super flow down into the valley. The feeling of riding on the 15-kilometre-long Flow Country Trail Bad Kleinkirchheim seems endless with a maximum gradient of 8 per cent. The route is paved with gravel and winds its way from the Kaiserburg mountain station at 2100 metres above sea level along the ridge over forest and meadow areas down into the valley for around 910 metres. Scooters, small landings and steep bends provide variety. There's also some pedalling in between. The shape crews have really gone all out here.
Bike pros also like to get off at the Flow Trail for a change. In sections 2 and 4 there are direct connections to the 4 Nock Lake trails. Not every obstacle on the route has to be mastered. Alternative routes and scenic rest areas offer beginners and advanced riders who want to take it a little easier a safe use of the trail. Bike hire and school as well as a practice course including a pump track and wash area for preparation and post-ride are located at the Kaiserburg valley station.
A few bike mountains north of Bad Kleinkirchheim lies the Turracher Höhe, an idyllic alpine pasture and lake plateau in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Carinthian Nockberge. Even the little ones can do their laps on the pump track at the valley station. The ÜWI Trail and the ÜWI Flow Trail get the older ones in the mood for more. There is plenty of flow on the almost 6-kilometre Kornock Flowtrail at Turracher Höhe. The trail winds its way down around 430 metres in altitude over the Kornock piste into the valley. You can pedal hard on the uphill sections. Even if it only gets a little trickier in two places, your trail technique and fitness should be right to make this varied route a biking pleasure. The trail is certainly not short on panoramic views: the Styrian and Carinthian Nockberge mountains and the blue-green glistening Lake Turracher See appear in alternating fashion. Rolling or jumping waves, fun berms, bridges and a small carousel of bends provide a rollercoaster feeling on the route. Bike hire, bike schools, a wash station and a bike information centre round off the bike offer on the Turracher Höhe.

Flow Trails are smooth bike routes that can be found almost exclusively in bike parks. They are not too steep, firmly laid out and usually full of bends. Waves and a raised outer edge in the bends create a rollercoaster feeling on the trail. There are small to medium jumps on the trail, mainly tables, which can usually be ridden around.
A mountain bike, sufficient fitness and the obligatory safety equipment are essential. Protective equipment includes a full-face helmet, goggles, gloves, knee and elbow protectors (and shin guards if necessary) and a suitable bike backpack. A few laps on a pump track will prepare you for the descent on the flow trail. For beginners, we recommend training with the pros at one of the bike schools.
An all-mountain bike or an enduro bike is usually recommended for a Flow Trail. These bikes are particularly suitable for Flow Trail due to their suspension and geometry, as they offer good control and stability on both fast descents and winding sections. Well-maintained bikes can be borrowed at the hire stations in the immediate vicinity of the trails.
