In September and October, the villages between the mountains and lakes will become big stages for regional products and Carinthian cuisine. To kick things off, guests set off on a culinary hike through Bad Kleinkirchheim. A gourmet market offering Carinthian products opens the gourmet weekends.
It was the monks from Millstatt monastery who reclaimed the valleys. What grew in the meadows, fields and gardens was recorded in delicious recipes. Some of these old recipes still serve as inspiration for the chefs today, who are keen to experiment with them for the ‘culinary nights’. Meat and dairy products, as well as vegetables, are of course sourced from local farmers.
On Friday and Saturday, many hands set the tables in the participating hotels and restaurants and the hosts invite guests to dine at sunset. The delicious menus are accompanied by an exquisite selection of Carinthian wines and between courses, the producers tell all kinds of interesting facts about their flavourful products.
From 21 September up to and including 12 October 2024, Genussland Kärnten producers, slow food businesses and Kirchheim chefs invite you to an afternoon market every Saturday from 14:00 to 18:00. The meeting point is opposite the St. Kathrein Family & Health Spa in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
The regional products can be tasted and purchased while listening to atmospheric music. Local drinks from Grantnwasser to delicious Carinthian wine provide the necessary refreshment.
On six Sundays in September and October, special culinary highlights await guests in the mountains around Bad Kleinkirchheim. Under the motto ‘Summit meeting of good flavours’, "Genussland Kärnten" show chef Marco Krainer conjures up delicious dishes made from high-quality regional products in front of guests on selected dates in the panorama restaurant Nock-IN or the Kaiserburg mountain restaurant. He will also be happy to give tips on how to cook them. The creations can be savoured from 11:30 to 15:00.

"Why go far away when good things are so close?" The organisers of the "culinary nights" also asked themselves this question, and so it was decided to include the Genussland Kärnten as a partner. Genussland Kärnten is an indispensable guide for anyone who consciously favours regional products. With an impressive number of around 420 Genussland Kärnten producers and manufacturers as well as 106 Carinthian gourmet inns and 71 Genussland Kärnten trade partners, Genussland Kärnten offers a wide range of regional gourmet experiences for every taste.
Table reservations are accepted by the participating establishments.
It is possible to purchase tickets for the Culinary Nights in advance - ideal as a gift for your loved ones! You can do this easily online HERE or at the Bad Kleinkirchheim tourist office.
Alternatively, the evening can also be paid for directly at the restaurant.
The menu price includes a five-course menu as well as extras such as a romantic transfer with the tractor taxi (Unterwirt Hüttn).
A wine accompaniment can be booked for the Culinary Journey (aperitif at the reception & five glasses of wine/sparkling wine - alternatively, non-alcoholic drinks can also be included for € 32).
In some participating establishments, wine accompaniment to the menu is offered for an additional charge.
All menus on Saturday, 21 September 2024 and on 4 and 5 October 2024 are also available in vegetarian form! Please let us know when making your reservation.
