A boat trip to the unspoilt southern shore of Lake Millstätter See was already a popular pastime among lovers during the summer months. Today, this unspoiled stretch is one of the most charming places for a romantic picnic by the lake in Carinthia. Then as now, couples land at the sheltered spots and spread out their picnic blankets.

The old beech trees lean into the lake and form a protective canopy. There is a small footbridge and curved seating for picnics by the water. From here, the view is of the Habsburg villas in the distance, and the music of the forest provides atmospheric entertainment. The Panorama Picnic combines enjoyment, nature and history - embedded in one of the most atmospheric settings in the region.

The rowing boat - room for two

There's room for two and a picnic basket in the Zweispitz, the timbered rowing boat! The boats are moored at the "Wassersport Strobl" boat rental in Seemühlgasse.

The pleasure basket for two people contains

2 bottles of mineral water (0.25 l each)
2 returnable bottles (0.3 l) with homemade iced tea or fruit juices
Cold cuts & antipasti platter with prosciutto, salami, cheese and vegetables
2-3 homemade spreads
Fresh pastries in a "pastry bag"
2 pieces of homemade cake

Between Seecafé KAP 4613 and "Wassersport Strobl" boat hire in Seemühlgasse is a 500 meter walk or a short rowing route. The romantic tour can either start at Seecafé KAP 4613, with a relaxed walk along the promenade to the boat rental, or directly at the boat rental (Wassersport Strobl / Seemühlgasse 56a). The picnic basket is then taken on board from the lake. On your return, the boat and picnic basket are returned to the respective pick-up points.

The romantic boat tour with picnic lasts around 3 hours.

Cancellation free of charge until 14:00 the day before. After that the full amount will be charged.

The picnic basket can be picked up at the reserved time at KAP 4613 - the pyramid in Lake Millstatt and will be returned here after the picnic.

(E-)Bike: The KAP 4613 is located directly on the Millstätter See cycle path. This makes it easy to combine a picnic with an e-bike tour.
