Scheduled boat tours on Lake Millstatt

In 1901, the steamship "Margaretha" was ceremoniously launched, marking a significant milestone in the history of shipping in Carinthia. As the first steamship on the lake, it caused quite a stir among the summer visitors who had settled in the idyllic lakeside resorts. The fleet was expanded in 1912 with the addition of the “Aribo”, which also quickly became a familiar sight on the lake. Whilst the “Margaretha” ceased operations as early as 1917, the “Aribo” took passengers on cruises around Lake Millstatt
for over 100 years

Whether it’s a short cruise (1 hour), a panoramic cruise (1.5 hours) or the Grand Lake Millstatt Cruise (2.5 hours). Today, just as in the past, a cruise on the MS Seeboden and the MS Kärnten constantly offers fresh perspectives on life by the lake. And there’s plenty of celebration on board too. How about a Sunday brunch, a company outing or a birthday party?

Bicycle and pedestrian ferry across Lake Millstatt

At Schillerstrand in Millstatt am See, the “Peter Pan” waits patiently for weary cyclists travelling along the idyllic Millstätter See cycle path. The ferry is operated by Millstätter See Schifffahrt Schuster. During the summer months, it runs a shuttle service between the jetties at Millstatt am See, the southern shore of Lake Millstatt, Döbriach and Seeboden am Millstätter See. It is often captained by Silke Schuster, “the first real” and now longest-serving captain on Lake Millstatt. Together with her husband, she runs Schuster Boating, the go-to company for bike ferries, water taxis, sightseeing cruises or a spot of water-skiing. The Schuster family’s fleet includes the MS Porcia, the ferries “Peter Pan” and “Moby Dick”, and three motorboats. All vessels can also be booked for excursions and celebrations.

The "Peter Pan" cycling and walking shuttle will run between Millstatt am See and Großegg from 10 May to 31 October 2026.
It will also call at the jetties in Seeboden am M. S. and Döbriach am M. S. several times a day.
