in Bad Kleinkirchheim

Summer in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve municipality of Bad Kleinkirchheim is diverse. The NOCKBIKE-routes here lead up to the peaks, while spectacular flow trails take you back down into the valley. Scenic hiking trails can be shortened with the mountain railways and golfers can tee off on Carinthia's highest golf course with a magnificent mountain panorama. Of course, the Carinthian cuisine also contributes to the enjoyment of your time in Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Over 100 kilometres of pistes that wind their way down the valley around Bad Kleinkirchheim make the World Cup resort one of the largest winter sports centres in Carinthia. The blue to black pistes offer winter fun for every level. There is also plenty going on away from the pistes: cross-country skiing through the valley, touring skiing and snowshoeing deep into the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. If you like it fast - take a toboggan and ride down the natural toboggan runs or the Kaiserburg Bob.

For 40 years, the World Cup resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim has been the venue for numerous exciting race decisions. In addition to the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup, the race calendar included the Junior World Championships, Austrian Championships, European Cup races and various FIS races.

Ski emperor Franz Klammer celebrated his first victory on the slopes of Bad Kleinkirchheim. The best male and female skiers in the world did the same and took on the challenges of the 3,150 metre long ‘Carinthia - Franz Klammer’ World Cup downhill run. People in Bad Kleinkirchheim still like to talk about the glittering World Cup parties today.
