Hike along the Via Paradiso around Lake Millstätter See or along the Jewellery Trail into the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Carinthian Nockberge: The centre of the hiking village of Döbriach is the ideal starting point for panoramic hikes, which can be wonderfully combined with a dip in the warm waters of Lake Millstätter See. Before setting off, we recommend a visit to Sagamundo - the house of storytelling. Young hikers can follow in the footsteps of the Mirnock giant on a legend hike through the village. In the afternoon, the Döbriach ‘Riviera’ becomes a popular meeting place. Visitors can watch the most beautiful sunsets from the barrier-free promenade. 

The town has been characterised by mining over the centuries. It was once garnet that was dug out of the mountain here. Today, magnesite is still mined underground and visitors can tap ruby-coloured gemstones from the mica schist walls in the Granatium. A culinary interpretation of the garnet stone can be found in the neighbouring award-winning restaurant ‘Metzgerwirt’, where you can sample garnet pralines and garnet ham. A pomegranate beer brewed in the Shilling private brewery or a flavoursome cheese from the Kaslabn Radenthein cheese dairy go well with this. Gourmets should make a note of Friday in their diaries, as this is when the town market is held in Radenthein.

Explore new slopes every day: Döbriach-Radenthein invites you to do just that in winter. Some of the largest ski mountains in Carinthia can be reached from Döbriach-Radenthein in just a few minutes. How about a day's skiing in Bad Kleinkirchheim and a few relaxing hours in one of the two thermal spas in the Kleinkirchheim high valley? The snow-sure, wide pistes on the Turracher Höhe and the family ski areas of Falkert and Hochrindl are also within easy reach. For those who like to enjoy the lake view, a ski tour on the Millstätter Alm or the Mirnock is ideal. And those who want to leave their skis at home can set off on a winter walk and explore the winter hiking trails or go tobogganing on the Mirnock.

The lakeside promenade in Döbriach is around 580 metres above sea level, while the centre of Radenthein is around 137 metres higher. Thanks to its location on the south side of the alps, Döbriach-Radenthein spoils its visitors with above-average hours of sunshine.
