With its charming atmosphere, fascinating history and breathtaking natural backdrop, Seeboden has been a popular meeting place since the summer resort days.
A painting by Gustav Klimt portraying the art patron Sonja Knips hangs in the Upper Belvedere in Vienna. She was one of the aristocrats who spent their summers at the villa by the lake around 1900 and could often be found strolling along the promenade. Then as now, the large parks that extend to the shore and the gardens in the bay, which bloom in the most beautiful colours in the summer months, characterise the townscape. In addition to nature and history, Seeboden also offers a lively cultural scene and a variety of restaurants, cafés and shops that invite you to linger.
