My favourite ski area in Carinthia

For several months of the year, the green, gentle peaks of the Nockberge mountains are transformed into white giants, with wide pistes carving their way down into the valley. These are ski areas where carving is great fun and families can ski or snowboard down into the valley together. If you are looking for more challenges, head to the end of the Nockberge mountains. Steep slopes and rugged rocky outcrops rise up at their foothills, over which the 50-hectare freeride area on the Goldeck sports mountain stretches in winter.
 

Unlimited skiing fun

Exactly 103 kilometres of pistes of all levels of difficulty invite you to wedel and carve in the Bad Kleinkirchheim ski area. The largest ski area in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Carinthian Nockberge is characterised by perfectly groomed pistes with guaranteed snow.

Winter skiing starts early on the Turracher Höhe. The first lifts start as early as November, allowing skiers to enjoy cross-border skiing fun.
 

Ski resorts for your first ski turns

A handful of enjoyable descents, less crowding at the access points, hardly any queues and cheaper ski pass prices: Sometimes less is more: especially when you are just learning to ski or snowboard and the number of kilometres skied per day hardly matters. In addition to the Heidi Alm Skipark Falkert and the Hochrindl, the Goldeck sports mountain is also ideal terrain for skiers who are taking their first turns after a long break.

The sun accompanies ski enthusiasts on the south side of the Alps more often than average throughout the day. You can race against the glistening snow crystals and capture the magnificent mountain panorama from all angles while piste hopping. In between, the sun terraces in front of the ski huts invite you to take a break.
