My WellnessTIME
at the Bad Kleinkirchheim thermal baths

Dive into the warm water, take a sauna, relax on a lounger, enjoy the views of gently rolling mountains and do it all over again: a thermal spa is a wonderful place to escape from everyday life. When two spas are almost neighbours, all the better. A spa holiday in Austria is a relaxing break from everyday life in the Bad Kleinkirchheim high valley.

From the Slopes to the Thermal Baths

The healing thermal water in Bad Kleinkirchheim

It was the Benedictine monks who made the high valley arable in the 11th century and probably also discovered the healing water source. Many myths and legends surround this special power spot. Thermal guests can still experience the soothing effect of the eye spring today. At the place where the spring comes to the surface, the St. Kathrein Church was built. A staircase leads into the crypt directly under the church. Rich in minerals and about 36 °C warm, the thermal water finds its way to the surface in a niche of the crypt.

Today, as then, the spring feeds the two thermal baths in Bad Kleinkirchheim and convinces with its regenerating effect.

Tip: The thermal water in Bad Kleinkirchheim is rich in magnesium, sodium, and potassium and can be tasted during a visit to the crypt.

How do I get to the healing spring? A visit to the eye spring in the crypt is best combined with a walk. Starting from the thermal road, a walking path leads to the St. Kathrein Church. The crypt is accessible all year round!

What effect is attributed to the healing water that feeds the thermal baths in Bad Kleinkirchheim?

  • The Bad Kleinkirchheim healing water has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.
  • It is helpful for general exhaustion or after operations.
  • It has a regenerating effect on stiffness after bone fractures, muscle, and joint rheumatism, and provides relief for disc damage, neuralgia, chronic nerve, or nerve root inflammation.
  • At the same time, it is said to have a soothing effect on allergic diseases, anemia, blood pressure fluctuations, circulatory headaches, and migraines.
